Take Them to the Parks

There are plenty of parks in San Juan Capistrano. Perhaps the ideal parks you and your kids can visit are Los Rios Park and Mission Bell Park.

Los Rios Park sits directly behind Zoomars Petting Zoo. The park is located in the heart of one of the “oldest neighborhood in California.” If you enter the park from the AMTRAK train station, you’ll see lovely black and white historical photographs set into the garden wall in the park. The structure of the playground is dark wood with iron accents. Your kids will feel like they’re in the Old West. Just like the olden times in Los Rios.

Mission Bell Park sits in the heart of the Blue Fin neighborhood in San Juan Capistrano. It’s a small park but is usually quiet with a lot of shade and trees. Mission Bell Park has a large grassy area where you can run your dog while the kids play. You can set up a picnic here and enjoy the day without any worries. The park is also close to the San Juan Creek bike trail and Creekside Park. From here, you can feel the cool ocean breeze of Dana Point.
